This panel discussion brings together Portland authors Frances Badalamenti, Chelsea Bieker, and visual artists Anya Roberts-Toney and Franny Capone to share how they conceive of mothering in their work through both written and visual means. This generative conversation will explore what makes a mother in these artists’ works and address engendered modes of representation, social obligations, and mothers as both a concept and an archetype. There will be light snacks, tea, and time for a Q&A.
