As the relevance of physical books as artifact, object, and source of edification and entertainment shifts in contemporary culture, non-traditional avenues of publishing have blossomed. Publishing houses big and small now put out “books” exclusively online, or in non-traditional formats, from vinyl records to one-of-a-kind zines. This panel will feature three notable small press publishers discussing the nature of releasing non-traditional literary artifacts, talking through how and where their current publishing practices stay faithful to and/or diverge from traditional publishing.
